The Western landscape has a powerful hold on us. Mountainous to long stretches of nothing, it is endlessly fascinating. From Wyoming to the Mexican border, nowhere is it a land of gentle rains and nodding flowers. It is rough, violent and vast.

I paint the land in it’s dangerous beauty. The West has never been an easy place to survive, we are all subordinate to this landscape. My paintings try to capture the grandeur and the nuances of an event. All the color, light and movement that changes second by second. If only for that second, I want this to be as real to my audience as it is to me. I want to trust the experience.
